Staph or Staphylococcus is a common bacterium that is found in human body. It is generally found on skin and nose. These bacteria are harmless but if they enter the body through any cut or opening they grow very quickly and they cause infection.

Sometimes doctors advise use of medicinal honey because honey has antibacterial properties. The bacterial culture helps in curing the infection.
Bacitracin, Mupirocin or a combination of antibiotics can be given by the doctor. It can be put in the nose at night for a month or so. Some ointments can be purchased without any prescription and are not very expensive also. These ointments can be applied inside the nose.
Unclear nose provides suitable conditions for the growth of Staph bacteria. A person should take proper precautions in case of cuts and wounds. If not taken proper measures the bacteria can enter the skin and cause infection. One should not pick the nose or scratch the skin during infection. Cleanliness can help in healing of the infection faster.
