Blind Boils on Face – Know About their Origin and Treatment
The word boil is derived from the German language and it means a swelling. Boils occur on the face due to an infection that is triggered by the bacterium known as to staphylococcus aureus. A boil has an extensive involvement of the hair follicle which includes per follicular area in the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue.
The infection becomes evident when a tender region appears on the facial skin. Soon after this an inflamed nodule appears. In the next few days the infected area becomes necrotic and oozes pus from a point in the boil. This happens in the case of a regular boil. The boils which do not discharge pus from their surface are known as blind boils.
Blind boils appear on the face as a flesh-colored bump without any head.
So we find that the origin and development of both the regular and the blind boils are identical. The only marked difference is that the blind boil does not become ripe or form a head.
There are several ways of treating blind boils on face effectively. However, squeezing them in a bid to burst them open pre-maturely can be quite risky and may leave a scar on the skin. Meddling with the blind boils can also spread the infection to other parts of the skin. Hence, one should deal with a blind boil patiently and let nature take its course.
These simple steps can be helpful in getting rid of the blind boils on the face in a safe way:
- Apply a hot compress several times daily on the blind boil. The heat helps in making the infection reach its climax and makes the boil suppurate.
- The face should be washed with an anti-bacterial face wash.
- Avoid the intake of spicy, oily and hot food.
- One should avoid junk food too.
- Drink plenty of water to expel the toxins from the system.
- Apply a paste of Chandana and haridra to cure the blind pimples.
- Wipe the area with a cotton ball dipped in dilute tea tree oil or apple cider vinegar.
When the infection reaches its climax in the blind boil then it will also discharge pus like the normal boils and wither away.
